Substituent effects in 1,2-dihydro-1,2-azaborines

1,2-Dihydro,1,2-azaborines are isostructural and isoelectronic analogues of arenes. While the structure-reactivity relationships of arenes is well developed, a corresponding analysis with 1,2-dihydro-1,2-azaborines is still lacking. We have developed general procedures for the preparation of ring-substituted 1,2-dihydro-1,2-azaborines. The effects of ring substituents on the reactivity of these functionalized 1,2-dihydro-1,2-azaborine derivatives will be discussed.
