Studying the influence of BN vs. CC isosterism in electrophillic aromatic substitution (EAS) reactions

The effects of isosteric replacement of a C=C double bond with a B-N bond has previously been investigated in monocyclic 1,2-dihydro-1,2-azaborines. This presentation will showcase the synthesis of a new heterocycle, BN-substituted N-t-Bu-indole, and compare its EAS reactivity to organic N-t-Bu-indole.
