Synthetic studies of pharmaceutically important N-alkylated-4-alkoxypiperidine intermediates for the antihistamine drug

Many compounds including piperidine structures are widely used as a medicine such as Bepotastine, antihistamine drug and Tirofiban, antiplatelet drug. Therefore, the efficient synthetic methods of N-alkylated-4-alkoypiperidines must be developed. In this work, several routes for a piperidine ring formation have been studied and further elaboration of piperidine intermediates has been done for the preparation of antihistamine drug, bepotastine.
