How patents differ from journal articles

A patent is not just a paper that happens to appear in a journal published by the Patent and Trademark Office. There are indeed similarities between a peer-reviewed paper and a patent application. But there are also important differences. This presentation will explore both the similarities and the differences, particularly in the university research setting.
