A novel core-shell catalyst was prepared by coating H-beta zeolite membrane onto the surface of Co/Al2O3 pellet. The catalyst showed excellent performance for the direct synthesis of isoparaffins from syngas. The method can be extended to various consecutive reactions as the shell and core components are independent catalysts for different reactions.
