Since 1989, the Women Chemists Committee and Eli Lilly & Company have sponsored a program to provide funding for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral women chemists to travel to scientific meetings to present the results of their research. It is essential that women in the early years of their career are enabled to attend and present technical results at scientific meetings. The impact of receiving these travel grants helps increase the number of women in chemistry by providing: scientific education, improved communication skills and confidence, increased motivation and commitment to science, interaction with other scientists, feedback and suggestions for research, contacts for future employment, and career development; all through participation in technical conferences. Learn how these travel grants have positively impacted the lives of recent award recipients.
