| A pat on the back for a job well done is a wonderful thing, especially if it or comes as an acknowledgement of hard work and devotion or is unexpected. Such acknowledgements often come through the awards announced publicly, with ACS Awards being one subset of the ways that we as chemists publicly acknowledge excellence in science and service in our field. This presentation will focus on the positive aspects of these awards and honors in boosting ones careers, the downside of some of these awards, and the steps we all must take to assure that any award or recognition is given to the most deserved. |
