| The process used for the selection of the recipients of ACS National Awards is not confidential and it is the desire of ACS Staff and the ACS Board of Directors that it be known to all who are interested. This presentation will include a view of the annual schedule of events associated with this part of the National Awards process. It will show that much attention is given to making sure that each Selection Committee is staffed with well qualified individuals and that these people receive the information and assistance they need for carrying out the important task of choosing a winner for their particular award. Thanks to the efforts of ACS Staff over the past couple of years this whole review and selection process is now paperless and is totally done electronically. The amount of staff and committee work required each year for this part of the process is impressive. The ACS National Awards Program is considered by many ACS members to be a very important part of what the Society does and that it is done in the best possible way. |
