I will review and categorize the sources of viscosity in heavy ion collisions, with emphasis on how they manifest themselves in the dynamics and in measurements, such as spectra and correlations. Theoretical challenges with numerically implementing viscous effects will constitute a second theme of the talk, and results from viscous hydrodynamic codes will be used to illustrate various effects.
