Tutoring provides a means for general chemistry students to reexamine the concepts covered in lecture and a utility that enhances problem-solving skills. In order to determine the extent of the influence of tutoring on enhancing student learning and fostering a better understanding of the concepts of general chemistry, a study was conducted. The study compared the comprehension of some key concepts and exam performance of tutored versus non-tutored students of general chemistry. The findings of the study, as well as its implications, will be discussed.
