The Ouachita Baptist SAACS works toward the goal of bringing together chemistry students and sharing chemistry with the community. We hold regular meetings in which we inform students of events in the department and on campus, and also plan events to serve the local neighborhoods. We participate each semester in Tiger Serve Day, a community service event sponsored by the university. In addition, we seek opportunities, both chemistry- and non-chemistry related to get involved with the community. Aside from our goal to serve, we also plan social events to further develop the relationships among students and between students and professors. Through our activities we hope to make chemistry a less intimidating subject in society.
