| The Ball State University Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, an award-winning chapter, has had a very busy and successful year. Our organization performs many community outreach projects each year, beginning with volunteering at Ball State Day at the Indiana State Fair in August and ending with Science Day on the Greenway, held along the Cardinal Greenway in Muncie, Indiana in April. We held many fundraising events this year, including locks and goggles sales, a Mole Day celebration picnic, T-shirt sales, and bake sales. Moneys raised were used to fund our trip to the National Meeting and Science Day on the Greenway -- a Chemists Celebrate Earth Day event. Members volunteered for service to the department, college, and university. We took field trips to Eli Lilly and Company and the Indiana State Crime Lab in Indianapolis. We even found time to have end-of-semester Wii parties in July and December. |
