| The Miami Chemical Society (MCS) is Miami University's student chemistry organization. Members attend monthly meetings that feature chemistry-related activities and various speakers. Past speakers have included graduate school recruiters, graduate students from other universities, and representatives from Proctor & Gamble. Some of our club activities involve: attending local ACS meetings, hosting presentations by esteemed lecturers, and performing chemistry demonstrations. Each semester we fundraise by selling ACS study guides for general and organic chemistry classes. The fall BBQ and the liquid nitrogen ice cream social comprise some of our social events. To expand on our philanthropic activities, we plan on visiting elementary schools to give demonstrations. We also plan on hosting a science career fair in conjunction with other science clubs on campus. |
