As the culmination of a year and half of work, the Clemson SAACS chapter planned and implemented the undergraduate programming for the 59th Southeast Regional Meeting of the ACS (SERMACS). The meeting—themed "Chemistry in the Arts"—was a huge success with over 300 undergraduates attending. Both undergraduate poster and oral presentations were featured with strong participation in both. We adopted a multifaceted approach to chemistry in the arts by hosting a series of events including a symposium on conservation science, a plenary lecture by Nobel laureate Roald Hoffmann, a staged reading of the play "Oxygen", an artwork/poetry competition for middle and high school students, and a display of "science as art" artwork. Despite the large workload that accompanied the planning of this meeting, the chapter was still able to continue to increase its level of activity and received its highest award yet (commendable) for the 2006-2007 activities.
