Our Chapter, from its beginning has been celebrating Mole Day in an interesting way. The first year of our chapter, in 2003, our chairperson in the Chemistry Department, brought us an idea for this day inside the big week of National Chemistry week. Silka V. Torres, our Department Chairperson, with our incredible Lab. Technicians elaborates this idea and presented it to us. This fabulous activity, which the chapter accepted instantly, is “Ode to the Mole”. This activity consists of a competition of singing and writing poetry, where the students elaborate the concept of Mole and its application. In this way, the chapter is joining together the science with the art, and, also promoting the creativity of the students inside the strict parameters of the scientific concept.
