The Florida International University Chemistry Club has taken great strides this year in reaching the local community and inspiring chemistry awareness on campus. Members regularly travel to elementary and high schools to give basic chemistry demonstrations to today's youth, which involve simple and safe chemistry experiments aiming to spark interest in chemistry, and how it applies to everyday life. The Chapter also holds barbeques where all students and professors can enjoy great food, music, and fun chemistry games. To perform these events, the club organizes many fundraisers, which include the sale of safety glasses. Members of the Chapter are dispatched to every chemistry and biology laboratory section in order to reach as many students as possible. The second biggest fundraiser is working a concession stand in the American Airlines Arena (AAA) in Miami, where it allows the club to raise large sums of money in a short period of time.
