GCSU's chemistry construction: The many faces of chemistry

The Chemistry Club and the Women in Chemistry Alliance at Georgia College and State University presented a fantastic community-wide NCW program this year that engaged over 130 students and nearly 1000 participants. The week began with a photograph entitled “The Periodic Table of Faces”, a “Picnic at Herty Hall” celebration for students in all chemistry classes, followed by daily “hands-on” chemistry for elementary and middle school students in different counties. The GCSU campus community enjoyed “Chemistry on the Front Lawn” which brought chemistry activities to students and faculty of various disciplines. A mid-week “Family Fun Night” gathered hundreds of parents and children to an evening of hands-on chemistry. The week ended with the annual Chemistry Mall Show which was a big hit for the community. This presentation highlights our NCW 2007 program.
