CHED 1332 |
| During 2007-2008 we have focused on increasing new membership while maintaining current membership, raising awareness about ACS; and serving our local community. Our membership goal is being achieved by hosting SACCS meetings and social events including a fall BBQ and visiting a corn maze. Our chapter raises awareness about chemistry in our community by organizing demonstrations at local schools and at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science; updating our ACS bulletin board; encouraging student involvement in NCW; and promoting events focusing on green chemistry by hosting a “Science Café” and publishing a children's coloring book. Serving our community is also an important goal. We offer free tutoring sessions in the residence halls, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and collect canned food for our local food bank. Overall we have seen a boost in the moral of our chapter due to our group activities and the enthusiasm of our members. |
