The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectrum of p-(dimethyl)amino-cinnamaldehyde (DMAC) has been measured on colloidal silver. Proposed assignments for the observed vibrational bands are reported, in conjunction with theoretical frequencies determined using density functional theory (B3LYP level) with a 6311-G basis set.
