| The Manhattan College/ College of Mount Saint Vincent chapter of the ACS loves to help make connections with this fun exciting field and help build the future of chemistry! So far, the 2007/2008 school year's most successful event was the science exhibit at the New York Hall of Science. Everyone was awestruck by our experiments. We have also brought chemistry into our meetings by sponsoring a “Tie-Dying” party in which all the group members had a chance to tie-dye their own T-shirts. There have also been fund raisers such as the bake sales every month and a recently planned raffle to help us raise money for the club. We have planned to hold many more in the future. We have also successfully held chemistry education workshops in the past as well as 5K walks to help raise money for charity. This presentation will include information and pictures of all of these events in hopes of drawing people into the wonderful world of chemistry. Our goal is to build interest in the field today because every discovery made today will increase knowledge for the future! |
