Our MRSEC-sponsored research into the templated assembly of semiconductor quantum dots for novel nanoelectronic device applications has involved collaborations across multiple university, industry, government and industrial laboratories. These collaborations have involved exchange of equipment, samples, students, postdocs, faculty and collaborators across the participating institutions. I will discuss how these collaborations have advanced our research enterprise and the benefits of this collaborative environment to the participants, particularly students and postdocs. Work in collaboration with Jeremy Graham, Maria Gherasimova, Li He, Stuart Wolf, Chi Chin Wu (UVa), Martin Kammler (UVa and Infineon), Alain Portavoce (UVa and CNRS), Jennifer Gray (UVa and U. Pittsburgh), Surajit Atha (UVa and GE India), Greg Snider (Notre Dame), George Thompson (Intel), Isabelle Berbezier (CNRS Marseilles), Jerry Floro (Sandia and UVa), Frances Ross (IBM), Jonas Johansson and Lars Samuelson (Lund U).
