Dendrimers, synthetic organic star-branched polymers, have recently been successfully conjugated to various small molecules to create multifunctional nanotherapeutics, specifically drug delivery systems. Currently, various poly(amidoamine) dendrimer generations are being synthesized and their quality compared to that of commercially available dendrimers. The cost effectiveness of synthesizing dendrimers in-house combined with the level of product quality will be evaluated. Upon successful completion, these dendrimers will be functionalized to create nanotherapeutics used in drug delivery.
