The author's department adopted a response system in 2004 and its use has developed from a single section to all sections of the general chemistry course. This paper will discuss observations regarding the implementation and move from an IR system to a basic RF system to one with symbolic input capability, and present data on student performance and student and instructor attitudes about the response system.
