We are currently using sodium nitroferricyanide in order to determine the presence of secondary amines such as methamphetamine in trace quantities on solid surfaces. In the lab, we are using our modified Simon's Reagent procedures for the quick detection of pseudoephedrine, the precursor for methamphetamine synthesis in clandestine meth labs. Commercial methamphetamine test kits will also be compared in order to correlate our results.
