The UMHB Student Affiliate Chapter publishes a monthly flyer entitled the “Green Sheet.” The “Green Sheet” is dedicated to preventing by informing. Distribution of this campus-wide flyer comes with two goals in mind. The first is to inform the university campus about the need to protect our endangered environment. By providing readers with current events and studies on environmental issues, they can learn how to become active participants in the fight against pollution. The second goal of the “Green Sheet” is to personalize the issue by relating environmental issues directly to readers' everyday lives. By giving simple suggestions that can be applied to one's everyday life, the amount of excess waste each reader produces can be drastically reduced. It is proposed that the use of the “Green Sheet” will have a positive effect on the local environment by transferring the power of change directly to the individual through informing.
