| The Student Affiliates chapter at Truman State University continues to define itself by its strong commitment to service, both to its school and to its community. SAACS members are actively involved in finding innovative ways to foster an appreciation of chemistry within the community and increase awareness of its impact on daily life through events such as a History of Chemistry Fair, a math and science night at an elementary school, and public events during National Chemistry Week. Chapter members also play an important role in Truman's chemistry department by organizing weekly seminars, hosting social events to facilitate student/faculty interaction, and assisting current and prospective students in their higher education career. Through these and other events, Truman's SAACS chapter is continuing to expand its outreach in order to increase understanding and knowledge of the chemical sciences. |
