A new laboratory manual was produced for use in the General, Organic, and Biochemistry for the Health Sciences course at Ball State University. The traditional introductory chemistry lab manual model was significantly modified to produce an inquiry-based approach to each experiment. Lengthy background sections were replaced with introductory paragraphs and bullet-listed objectives. Pre-lab questions were eliminated from the experiments. The procedure, data sheets, and post-lab questions were combined into a single section to remove ambiguity and confusion, as well as to create an inquiry format. A total of eleven experiments were included in the manual.
