The Florida International University Chapter of Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society “Biscayne Bay Campus Science Club” along with the Student Government Association and the Vice-Provost office worked in conjunction to host the fall 2007 Open House. The goal of this event was to recruit members of the community to our university, and a new feature of it that helped with this goal was “The Arts and Sciences Culture festival”. Not only were Student Affiliates involved, but more than 50 students from different majors joined us to demonstrate the relationship between science, art, and culture. There were more than 30 hands-on experiments displayed, along with food, music, and arts from about 10 different cultures. It allowed the community to see the diversity and accomplishments of FIU and we also took advantage of the opportunity to introduce the multi-faces of chemistry.
