Abstract:

Our emerging realization that carbon dioxide is contributing to Global Warming, and that Global Warming will not be good for you, or your neighbor, will result in increasing societal pressures to do something about that carbon dioxide.

The general consensus regards hydrogen as being a perfect fuel, light, rich in energy, and free from carbon emissions. However, the big lie is that hydrogen as is currently being produced has already emitted copious amounts of carbon dioxide before being bottled and shipped to the end consumer. Thus the current situation has hydrogen as a dirty fuel.

SkyMine™ is a technology in development by Skyonic® corporation targeted towards reducing the carbon dioxide emissions from coal fired power plants. One byproduct of a SkyMine™ is the production of electrolytic grade hydrogen.

This White paper looks at the current chief means of producing hydrogen and the carbon impact of the current methods, and then looks at the SkyMine™ and its hydrogen versus carbon footprint.
