This study investigated the effect of the annealing temperature on the structural, optical, and morphological of TiO2 films prepared by doctor blade. The phase structure, thermal, microstructure and surface properties of the coatings were characterized by using XRD, DSC, and AFM. The spectroscopic analysis was investigated by a UV–Vis spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the crystallite size and preferential growth directions of the films were dependent on the annealing temperature. AFM was used to analyze the roughness and microstructural properties and UV-Vis spectroscopy for calculating the thickness and the band gap of the TiO2. The transmittance measurements for thin films, as a function of wavelength reveal the dependence of direct optical band gap on the annealing temperature. The photocatalytic activities were evaluated in reaction of photodegradation of methyl orange and methylene blue.
