A considerable proportion of new innovations and discoveries in science and technology are made by the small businesses of America. Collaborative endeavors between small business enterprises and faculty and student researchers from two-year colleges present prospects for all parties to reap significant benefits. The small business is afforded an increased size to their talent pool of researchers, and the two-year college is provided with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge research. To this end, the National Science Foundation established a program to support such partnerships, which will be described in this presentation. Additionally, brief descriptions of the Southwestern College research team and its collaborative projects with a small business, Ondax, Incorporated, will be provided.
