| The Penn State Center for Nanoscale Science is a Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) that supports collaborative, interdisciplinary research efforts in the area of nanoscale materials. The research of the Center is focused broadly on molecular nanofabrication, molecular and nanoscale motors, low-dimensional electronic nanostructures, novel optical materials, and complex oxides. These research themes are integrated with major efforts in educational and industrial outreach. This talk will describe the diversity-focused research and educational activities of the Center. These include a Discovery Corps water quality research project in Tarkwa, Ghana, a research partnership with the University of Puerto Rico, K-12 outreach partnerships with the Franklin Institute and the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, and collaboration with other diversity-focused initiatives at Penn State. |
