Processing of polysaccharide nanocrystals reinforced polymer nanocomposites

Crystalline nanoparticles can be extracted from the biomass. Cellulose and chitin nanocrystals occur as rod-like nanoparticles and starch nanocrystals occur as platelet-like nanoparticles. These nanoparticles can be used to process high-performance nanocomposites. The properties of these materials depend strongly on the processing technique used.
