Even with great ideas and armed with the knowledge of where to obtain funding and how to execute a research program at a PUI, it is critical to understand the institutional culture and in particular to know where and how to gain the necessary internal support. Without appropriate interactions with and support from institutional administrators from the Chair to the Provost (VPAA), it may become difficult to execute the research program you envision. This presentation will explore this important and too often overlooked area in initiating and sustaining a PUI research program.
