| Collaborating with undergraduates on research projects can be very rewarding and productive. One of the primary difficulties is the high rate of turnover which limits the intellectual and physical momentum that help move projects forward. Strategies will be discussed that help overcome this barrier to productivity. Successful programs have found ways to keep students involved in the research project throughout the entire year and for multiple years. The presence of these returning students can enable a faculty mentor to take on more research students and potentially realize greater productivity. |
