JCE Data-Driven Exercises is a new WWW collection offered through the Journal of Chemical Education Digital Library; a collection of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). This project is devoted to the accumulation, sharing and curricular use of guided-inquiry, data-centered exercises across the chemistry curriculum. Inspired by the notion that scientific discovery cannot happen without consideration of empirical evidence, this collection has been assembled to promote student learning of chemical principles through data analysis. Exercises in the current collection are focused upon physical chemistry and are arranged by topical area. The collection will ultimately encompass other curricular areas. As such, contributions are encouraged from the broader chemical community within any curricular area where data-driven inquiry is deemed beneficial (including general, physical, analytical, inorganic, and biological chemistry). Highlights of the current collection will be presented, along with author guidelines for those who would like to contribute to this project.
