| I am a Technologist in the Chemical Process and Engineering Research Laboratory at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, working mainly with engineers, and some with chemists. I have received A.A.S. degrees in Chemical and Electrical Technology from Northeast State Technical Community College. My responsibilities include, directing construction of bench units, supporting operators during operation and troubleshooting of bench units, (electrical and mechanical problems), and data analysis. The bench units could include reactors, distillation columns, and extractors, or any combination of the three. The bench unit is the first step from glass to metal, which gives valuable information about new technology towards commercialization. |
