Applied Chemical Technology professionals are often the "go-to" team member. They often work in more than one lab and work for more than one senior chemist/engineer. They have high mechanical aptitude, are creative, and have good observations skills. They are problem solvers using logic and reasoning to evaluate a problem and identify alternate solutions, conclusions and approaches to the problems. They are self-starters with the ability to think for themselves. Applied chemical technology professionals can work with their hands, think analytically, and pay attention to detail. Their personal qualities include their ability to learn new skills, a willingness to accept responsibility, good communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to finish projects. They need to have the skill to use scientific rules and methods to solve problems and conduct tests. They conduct inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance. They are able to use mathematics to solve problems and are able to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to monitor proper operation of equipment. They strive to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. They effectively communicate written and verbally and are great manager of one's own time and the time of others. |
