Experience with chemical changes is mandated by the National Science Standards as well as by most states. Attempting to acquire and/or use "laboratory" chemicals can be difficult, dangerous and expensive. Fortunately, many basic chemical reactions can be explored via the use of inexpensive materials found in a supermarket, pharmacy, or hardware store. Come learn about how to safely "do chemistry" with "ordinary chemicals". Appropriate for elementary, middle, and high school.
