Introducing Eurocel and Europak - KNAUER's New Cellulose and Amylose-Based Chiral Stationary Phases in 3 - 20 µm Particle Sizes | |||

Chiral stationary phases (CSPs) based on derivatized amylose are widely used in normal phase mode enantioseparations with hexane/ethanol or hexane/isopropanol eluents. The versatility of the amylose derivatized Europak 01 CSP with different eluents was demonstrated by carrying out HPLC separations of different enantiomer types. Chiral separations in RP mode as well as in normal phase mode were successfully performed on the same Europak 01 column, demonstrating the eluent flexibility of this amylose phase. Chromatographic separation results indicated < 1 % variation in retention time without any effect on the separation factor. Very short equilibration times in the range of 0.5 h were observed with Europak 01, indicating a significant time savings in regards to solvent equilibration.
