CINF - Incorporating Chemical Information Literacy into your Curriculum: A Workshop for Faculty and Librarians
Incorporating Chemical Information Literacy Into Your Curriculum.
Sunday, August 19, 1 to 5 PM
Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC).
Contact: Jeremy Garritano, Purdue University Libraries - CHEM, 504 W. State St., West Lafayette, IN 47907-2058; phone (765) 496-7279; e-mail: jgarrita@purdue.edu.
Designed for faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, and librarians. Students need information to understand and solve chemistry and chemical engineering problems. Often they turn to the wrong resources or have not been properly prepared to choose from the many resources available to them. Because certification from the ACS requires instruction in the retrieval and use of chemical information, what can you do to make students more successful in the use of information in the classroom and in the lab? This workshop will provide you with the tools you need to intelligently design assignments that teach chemical and engineering concepts and incorporate chemical information literacy without overwhelming the student or yourself. Workshop fee: $125
