| Natural products continue to reveal new structural motifs that serve as a stimulus for the development of new methods and strategies in organic synthesis. This lecture will especially describe our recent total synthesis of furano- and pyrano-naphthoquinone antibiotics from carbohydrates: nanaomycins, kalafungins, BE52440A and others, which are endowed with very unique bioactivities. |
