| Analytical Chemistry has been described as the science of obtaining, processing, and communicating information about the composition and structure of matter. Thus careers in Analytical Chemistry can be found throughout academia, government an industry and opportunities for employment in the field exist wherever the questions: “What is this?” and “How much of X is in this sample?” are asked. Several examples of types of Analytical Chemistry positions will be discussed, illustrating the broad range of opportunities available, types of work environments and the characteristics of successful practitioners in the field. |
