| Over the last six years the Chemistry Department of Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York has established a strong reputation of instituting undergraduate research at the freshman level, building up a solid Honors program and providing excellent transfer opportunities to its graduates. Forging undergraduate research arrangements has led to a large number of student presentations in conferences, including the National ACS Meetings. These successes have been responsible for the realization of the American dream by many of the immigrant students that have started their college career at Queensborough. At the same time the college has succeeded in earning the right to host the 52nd Undergraduate Research Symposium of the ACS-NY section in 2004 and the 40th Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting in May 2008. |
