| Many fields of chemistry impact the mission of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). These include fields such as biochemistry and organic chemistry that are traditionally associated with biomedical research but extend into many other areas of chemistry as well including inorganic, analytical, physical, polymer, and nuclear chemistry. As a consequence, NIH supports a wide range of opportunities for chemists to contribute to biomedical research and training. New programs at the interfaces of chemistry and biomedical research are emerging to address the challenges of modern biomedical research. |
