Camptothecin, which is isolated from Camptotheca acuminate, have received FDA approval for the treatment of ovarian and lung cancers and for colorectal cancer, respectively. Effectiveness of a naturally derived fungicide against Rhizoctonia solani, Sphaerotheca fuliginea and Pseudoperonospora cubensis was studied under laboratory greenhouse conditions. The product exhibited strong antifungal activity and at doses about 20-40 mgL-1caused >50% inhibition ratio and 250-750 mgL-1 caused >90% against R. solani, S. fuliginea and P. cubensis, the LD50 and LD90 values were 41.964 mgL-1 ,40.495mgL-1,27.489 mgL-1 and 756.776 mgL-1, 247.026 mgL-1, 341.818 mgL-1 respectively. The results showed that camptothecin is highly inhibition effective on above three agricultural fungi.
