The POGIL method of learning uses a learning cycle that allows students to process information, analyze situations, and construct their own understanding of chemistry concepts. Our presentation will discuss how manipulatives, software, internet sites and lab activities can be used for POGIL activities with high school students. The presentation will illustrate methods of writing activities and facilitating their use in the classroom. An activity incorporating manipulative models exploring the concept of heats of solution will be used to demonstrate these techniques
