Abstract: We firstly reported on the synthesis of functionalized ZnS nanocrystals via by catalytic chain transfer polymerization (CCTP) technique. Firstly, we prepared poly(methylacrylic acid)-b-poly(butyl methacrylate) (PMAA-b-PBA) macromonomers via CCTP, which contain unsaturated carbon-carbon double bonds in end group, and then we used these macromonomers as the stabilizer to further fabricate functional ZnS nanocrystals. FT-IR characterization indicates the formation of robust bonding between ZnS nanocrystals and macromonomers. It is found that these polymers prepared by CCTP are good ligands for fabricating quantum dots (QD) nanocrystals. Also, the ZnS nanocrystals exhibit good optical properties.
