Nicotine has shown many potential health benefits, especially those connected with the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Certain vegetables are known to contain nicotine. This research was conducted to quantitatite the amount of nicotine in some foods known to contain nicotine and also to search for other possible food sources of nicotine. The extracted samples were tested using GC-MS and quantitated using standard addition.
