Sieving buffers in capillary electrophoresis with derivatization and laser-induced fluorescence detection

An existing capillary electrophoresis system was altered to allow for laser-induced fluorescence detection. Separation of amino acids was carried out using borate buffer. This separation was compared to the same amino acids separated using a sieving buffer. In each case the samples were derivatized for LIF detection.
